We provide the professional transfer of audio documents in all commonly used formats to dubplates for immediate use as disks, or to lacquer for the industrial production of phonograph disks.
For lacquer cutting, disks with diameters of 17 cm/7 inches, 25 cm/10 inches, 30 cm/12 inches and special sizes are prepared for further processing at a pressing facility. We cut dubplates with diameters of 25 cm/10 inches or 30 cm/12 inches. For each format, speeds of rotation of 16⅔, 22½, 33⅓, 45 and 78 revolutions per minute are available; however, depending on the playing time and the characteristics of the audio material, not all combinations of diameter and speed of rotation are appropriate.
We offer the locked groove (or loop) and the inside-out cut as special cuts. The overriding objective of our work is to transfer the audio productions entrusted to us to disk in a manner that is true to the original. In order to make this possible, only equipment, apparatus and resources that meet the most demanding requirements are used in our two studios. We have an array of standard broadcasting measuring instruments for the servicing and regular maintenance of our studio equipment, and can thus guarantee compliance with the applicable DIN IEC and NAB standards.
Although the postprocessing (or “mastering”) of audio material is not one of our primary services, in moderation, we can - always in consultation with the customer - undertake changes in the sound and dynamics. If you are unsure of the suitability of an audio production for transfer to disk, we will be glad to give you our recommendations.
